”The domestic servants were tasked with cleaning the manor’s rooms in the mornings.

In winter, cleaning had to be done by the light of oil lamps.

Bedding was aired frequently and a larger “monthly” cleaning was done once a month. During the major cleaning, carpets and furniture were also taken out.”
